本校自1989年成立以來,今天已發展成為一所現代化的綜合大學。為配合市場趨勢及企業需求,大學一直提供具競爭力的專業課程,協助學生的職業生涯規劃。

我們開辦需求殷切並具特色的課程,包括護理、物理治療、醫療化驗技術、屋宇設備工程、創意藝術、幼兒教育和商業管理及企業管治。在「指定專業/界別課程資助計劃」獲資助的學額中,都大為自資院校之冠,充分肯定大學在專業教育方面所付出的努力和卓越表現。

大學團隊致力培育學生具穩固的學術基礎,並透過多元化的實習機會、全球文化沉浸體驗計劃和與企業合作項目,裝備他們掌握工作所需技能。

放眼國際,都大透過環球學術人才招聘計劃及中央學術人員基金,積極招攬世界級學者,提升教研質素。同時,最新設立的學術人員發展基金,支持教學人員於本地或海外進行為期 12 個月或以下的學術活動。

林群聲教授

林群聲教授

林群聲教授為香港都會大學校長及環境化學講座教授。

林教授於1979至1984年就讀於香港大學,取得學士及碩士學位;並於1984年獲英聯邦獎學金赴英國深造,在謝菲爾德大學修讀博士學位。及後林教授在裘槎基金會資助下,於倫敦大學國王學院從事博士後研究,並於1988年加入香港城市理工學院擔任講師一職。其後,他在多所大學工作,包括香港中文大學 (1990-1992) 和澳洲維多利亞科技大學 (1992-1994)。他在1994年再次回到香港城市大學化學系 (前生物及化學系) 工作。

林教授是香港高等教育界的先驅,在學術發展及大學行政管理方面具豐富經驗。加入都大前,林教授為香港城市大學特別項目總監,並身兼胡梁子慧教授 (理學) 及化學系講座教授。自1994年起,他在城大先後擔任其他要職,包括署理副校長 (本科教育)、副校長 (學生事務)、秘書長及海洋污染國家重點實驗室主任。

身為環境化學、生態毒理學,以及環境風險評估領域的傑出學者及專家,林教授的學術成就超卓,他在生態學和環境評估的研究成果尤其突出,提升了公眾的保護環境意識。他亦開發了一系列新興污染物的超靈敏檢測分析方法;其中,針對關鍵環境基質中的新興污染物的痕量分析技術,為協調國際的分析方法作出貢獻。其關於新興污染物的全球分佈與環境持久性的研究成果,也影響了世界上很多地方的相關政策與立法。

林教授在國際學術期刊以作者或共同作者的身份發表超過400篇文章,主持超過35項環境相關的政府顧問項目,包括有毒污染物對本港鯨豚和水鳥的風險評估。他先後於2011年、2012年及2019年三度獲國家教育部頒發自然科學獎 (二等獎)。

參與公共事務方面,林教授現時擔任認可諮詢委員會主席、大嶼山發展諮詢委員會委員、創新及科技局「傑出創科學人計劃」會員及土地共享先導計劃─顧問小組會員。他曾任環境諮詢委員會主席 (2010-2016),並分別於 2008 年及 2014 年獲香港特別行政區政府頒授太平紳士及銀紫荊星章。
