Let's start exploring Inspec and unlock a world of knowledge!

HyRead Kiosks – Touchable E-Books in the Library

The Library has recently installed two new HyRead kiosks in both campus libraries, bringing you a whole new world of browsing and reading e-books and e-journals. These kiosks are designed with an interactive touch screen display that allows you scroll through the screen, flip the pages, and select your favorite titles just like you would on an online platform. And if you find a title that you like, simply scan the QR code with your mobile device, and it will direct you to the HyRead App to continue your online reading or borrowing.

But that's not all! The Library has also curated a selection of titles on various topics to align with University's events or Library's seasonal promotion. For example, during the “Wellness Fest October” co-organized by the Student Affairs Office and the Library, the kiosks had been displaying a generous list of handpicked titles on wellbeing and yoga. So don't miss out on this opportunity to recharge yourself with new energies for your studies!

A Celebration of Wellness – Student Affairs Office x Library = Wellness Fest October

October is the perfect month to nourish your mind and body! The Library has teamed up with the Student Affairs Office to offer a series of fun and enriching activities as part of the “Wellness Fest October”, designed to boost the well-being of our students.

To start with, we showcased our wellness and health collection through a book display at both the Stanley Ho Library and Ho Sik Yee Library. We encouraged our students to read widely on topics of wellness and health, and share with us the books that inspire them by sending us their book reviews. Students could also test their knowledge on sports and fitness during our weekly challenge Library online quiz.

But that's not all! We also conducted yoga and singing bowl workshops in the Refreshment Corner of the Ho Sik Yee Library. Participants were able to unwind and recharge in the quiet and relaxing ambience of the Library.

Thank you for joining us in this celebration of wellness! And don't forget to keep coming to the Library to check out our extensive collection on health and wellness. We wish you all good health, both physically and mentally!

Discover the Possibilities: The Library is More Than Just Books!

The Library is also a hub of innovation and connection. In the past few weeks, the HKMU Library has been buzzing with activity, hosting a variety of events catering to different learning needs. These activities included information sessions on scholarships, wellness talks and workshops during the EIM-OC Month 2023 Wellness Fest October, as well as the “Youth Development Blueprint” sharing session, to name a few. We are thrilled to have collaborated with schools and offices to provide a brand-new learning and teaching experience for our students and staff. Our commitment to creating an inviting environment for more creative learning activities is unwavering.
