Loan Quota, Loan Period, Renewal Limits……More, More, More!

To provide better support for your study and research, the Library has enhanced the borrowing service by increasing the loan quota and extending the loan period for all materials in the General Collection. Now you can also enjoy more flexible renewals! Find out more below:

2. Flexible renewals
Renewals can be made at any time, unless the borrowed items have reached maximum loan periods or are reserved by other users.
 
3. Holds and recalls
While users can enjoy longer borrowing period, the borrowed items are subject to recall if they are reserved by other users.  Recalled items are to be returned in 14 days or by the due date, whichever comes earlier.  We will inform you the revised due date via email.  Please watch out your email box for the Library notices.

New Databases Supporting Your Study

We work closely with Schools to source suitable resources for our users. Recently, we have added the following useful study tools and resources to our e-resources collection:

Resources on learning English:
This online course guides users to speak English clearly and naturally. It consists of five learning sections: word stress, sentence stress, consonant clusters, connected speech and intonation.
This online course consists of teacher videos, interactive activities and study sheets to help users to structure their message, find the right vocabulary and adopt an appropriate style in different types of writing.
This is an online preparation and practice tool for IELTS candidates. It provides interactive activities, advice videos from experts and practical tests to help users to improve their skills in reading, listening, speaking and writing.
On English-Corpora.org, you can learn how native speakers actually speak and write, get tips on the frequent use of words, phrases, and how to collocate through the corpora. Besides, you can also know more about language variation and get insight from cultural perspectives.
This online course consists of 3 levels: basic, intermediate and advanced. Each level provides more than 150 grammar activities, interactive exercises and grammar references.

Resources on Nursing:
CINAHL Complete covers an extensive source of full text for nursing and allied health journals, and provides full text access to more than 1,300 journals indexed in CINAHL. It also provides indexing for more than 5,400 journals and additional nursing and allied health research materials.
