New Database: SpringerLink
Newly available in the E-Library in 2006,
SpringerLink provides access to over 1,000 journal titles
published by Springer and formerly Kluwer, with full text content dating
back to 1997. Titles cover Business & Economics, Chemistry, Computer
Science, Environmental Science, Psychology, Social Sciences, Nursing,
and so on. Psychological Research, Asia-Pacific financial Markets,
Higher Education, User Modeling and User-Adapted Interaction are
some examples.

New Database: World News
Connection (WNC)
Information contained in this database is compiled
by the U.S. Foreign Broadcast Information Services (FBIS) from thousands of non-U.S. newspapers, television and radio broadcasts,
and periodicals published around the world. Non-English news content from different countries was
collected and translated into English.

Database upgrade:
CINAHL (New Provider: EBSCOHost)
The Cumulative Index to Nursing &
Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) provides access to nursing and health related content.
CINAHL Plus with Full Text contains 300+ full-text journals,
covers topics including legal cases, clinical innovations, drug records,
instruments research reports, etc. Evidence-based Care Sheets and Quick Lessons are also available
from this database.

As a companion database, Pre-CINAHL
provides new journal articles which are yet to be indexed. This enables
users to gain access to article citations that otherwise would not be
available. Once the bibliographic records are complete, they are added
to the CINAHL Plus with Full Text database and removed from Pre-CINAHL.

PAIS International (New Provider: CSA)
This database contains references to
publications from over 120 countries throughout the world. Topics

Service
Alerts
Photocopier Card Refund Policy
Octopus Card-Operated copiers will replace the
Stored Value Card operated copiers gradually to provide a more convenient
photocopying service to users. Users can now get a refund of the HKD$10 deposit and the
remaining value upon presentation of their Open Learning Institute
/ OUHK stored-value cards in good
condition to
the Library Circulation Counter.
Extended Opening Hours during the Exam Period
From
January 30 to February 23, 2006, the Library will
extend opening hour from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. A seat
reservation scheme will also be in effect on Saturdays, Sundays and
Public Holidays (January 30-31, 2006).
Seat Reservation Tickets will be issued at the Library Entrance at
9:00 am on a first-come-first-served basis.

The papers of the exam held in August
2005 are available in
print and online. Go to E-Library Home Page >
Reserve Collection. Log in with your
user ID and password, then key in your course code to search.

A ¡§ Publisher Keyword¡¨ search
option is now available in the Library Catalogue. You can type in
keyword(s) of a publisher name to find Library materials by the
publisher.

find abundant information using
CINAHL Plus with Full text and
MEDLINE, both are available from EBSCO. These databases also provide
journal articles on nursing administration and management, health
assessment, health promotion, psychiatric nursing, and so on.

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition
(HSNA) and
Health and Wellness Resource Center (HWRC)
provides excellent coverage about healthcare terminology and concept
definition. Users can also search for drug usage, dosage, and related
information using HWRC.

evidence-based nursing resources and full-text review articles on the
effects of health care.
CINAHL Plus with Full text also provides 100+ evidence-based
