The Library is pleased to bring you a rich collection of electronic resources. For 2013, we have subscribed to over 50 databases covering wide spectrum of subject areas. There are full text journals, reference tools, videos collection, statistics information and more.

Library Workshops (April 2013)

Want to learn more about the E-Library? Need to find set textbooks, reference materials for the new semester, or just want to sharpen your information searching skills? The Library cordially invites you, whether you are a staff member, current or new student, to join the April 2013 Semester Workshops. Topics include:

  • Introduction to Library's collections, facilities and loan privilege

  • Essential information searching skills when using Library's electronic resources

  • Hands-on practice for finding set textbooks, reference materials and past exam papers

  • Points to note for accessing E-Library from home or office

Registration is required. Please call 2768-6778 or email your name, student ID and date of session to libwww@ouhk.edu.hk. You may find the workshop schedule and the registration status of each workshop via the E-Library website under "News and Announcements".

Service Alert

 

Database Lists in the E-Library

 

When you are looking for database in the E-Library, you can always type in the name of database under Library Holding and click View Online under the correct record to access the database. You now have more options. You can find the database lists in the homepage of the E-Library.

The database lists are organized in alphabetical order, in different subjects and in different providers. You can search for your desired databases by clicking the link provided. Then, click the title of the database to access the resource.

Research Consultation

Research Consultation Service is a one-on-one consultation service offered by the Library to support research activities of OUHK.  The service is available to OUHK academic staff, PhD and MPhil students who would like to meet our librarians for advice on information resources during their research process.  The time of the consultation may vary from 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the complexity of your research needs. 

 

Make an appointment with our librarians if you need to:

  • Identify information resources related to your research

  • Learn how to use library resources and develop search strategies

  • Manage and prepare your list of references

  • Know more about OUHK Library? collections and services that may help your research

Scanning Service

 

A4 document scanning service is now available at the Internet workstation Lib#14 (next to the Network Printer #2). A  user guide is placed next to the scanner workstation for users' reference. For enquiries, please seek assistance from the Circulation Counter.
