New arrangement for library collection

To provide better support to the study, teaching and research activities on the 3 campuses, the Library has consulted the relevant Schools and rearranged the library collection in early February 2021.

After the collection rearrangement, while the Stanley Ho Library on the Main Campus still holds most of the library collection, the Ho Sik Yee Library on the Jockey Club Campus now houses materials related to the classes conducted on the Jockey Club Campus, including subjects on Science and Technology, Cinematography and Film Production, Fine Arts and Photography.

To ensure that you go to the right campus library, do check the E-library for the location and status of the items you are looking for before the visit!

Can I attend an online class in the Library?

No problem!  Zoom client is available in both campus libraries for your ease of attending online classes.  Find out details on our website.

A remembrance of the past – Digitized Collection of the OUHK Main Campus Time Capsule

To commemorate the construction of the permanent campus of the OUHK, the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony was held in December 1994 and a time capsule ceremony was also held on the same occasion to leave behind precious memories. The capsule contained historic and valuable items contributed by the officiating guests, OU community and representatives of prestigious organizations in Hong Kong. It was buried in the main campus later and set to open in 2020.

In November 2020, the Unearthing Ceremony of the Main Campus Time Capsule was held and officiated by President Prof. Yuk-Shan Wong, Provost Prof. Reggie Kwan and Vice President (Resources & Development) Prof. Lui Yu-hon.

The Library has collaborated with the Public Affairs Unit and the Educational Technology and Development Unit to digitize some items for online display and long term digital preservation. Let's take a journey to the past and share these precious memories online!
