New Resources

New Databases for 2014

The Library is pleased to enrich our collection of electronic resources. For 2014, we have subscribed to some notable databases to strengthen our coverage on subjects of Arts and Nursing.

A good place to start appreciating the collections of National Palace Museum in Taiwan, National Palace Museum Collections Online provides access to photographs and descriptive articles of a special collection of antiquities, paintings, and calligraphies from the National Palace Museum in Taiwan, noted for their historic significance, importance, rarity, artistry, and popularity.

National Palace Museum Periodicals Online archives the full-text of the two periodicals of the National Palace Museum. Online full-text access of The National Palace Museum Monthly of Chinese Art and The National Palace Museum Research Quarterly are available since 1983 and 2001 respectively.

A unique online collection of videos, Nursing Education in Video is created specifically for the education and training of nurses, nursing assistants, and other healthcare workers. As a single, cross-searchable collection, it covers the fundamentals of nurse training and advanced topics. All of the videos are regularly reviewed for accuracy, currency, and compliance with US Federal regulations from agencies such as OSHA and CMS.

To access the databases, go to Electronic Library > type in the name of database under Library Holdings, then click Search

MLA International Bibliography, previously accessed via ProQuest, is now on Gale Cengage Learning platform. When you are in search of bibliographic records relating to literature, language, linguistics and folklore, this database is where to start.

OSH Update has changed the name to OSH Update + Fire. Apart from the current information on Health and Safety legislation and regulations, it has been enriched with information on fire.

Passport GMID has been renamed to Passport with new functionality and content.
