netLibrary launched
"eBook of the month"
Each month,
netLibrary selects a new featured title as "eBook of the month" and provides free access to the library users. The cover of the featured eBook of the month will appear at the right bottom of the eBook Details page you have selected. Just click on the eBook cover to read the featured eBook online.

Factiva new interface launched in March 04
Factiva, covering company and industry news information from over 9000 sources in 22 languages, has launched a new interface while keeping the main features and functionality unchanged. The following is the screenshot for the new interface. Click

INSPEC on EBSCOhost from 1 May 04
INSPEC, the database covering bibliographic citations on electrical engineering, computers, and information technology, has been made available on EBSCOhost platform. This change gives users an advantage to links to full-text articles in other EBSCOhost databases such as Business Source Premier, and Academic Search Elite.
Globalbooksinprint.com launches book alert service
The BIP alert service offered by Bowker's
Globalbooksinprint.com allows you to keep updated of new release or forthcoming book in your favorite subject area or author. To sign up for this alert service, go to Electronic Resources > Keyword Search > Type in "globalbooksinprint.com." Then, select "BIP Alert" on the top menu and follow the instructions.

Alerts
Pre-overdue reminder service launched
This new service helps you return or renew the materials timely. You will receive an email listing your checked-out Library materials that are to be due on the third day after date of the email. For instance, if you have materials to be due on April 5, you will receive an email reminder on April 2.
Student who registered with the Email Forwarding Service can enjoy this service.
If you have not registered yet, please go to OUHK Web site (students) > eServices >
Email
Functions, then fill in at most 3 email addresses you usually use, and tick to choose to receive "Library Overdue, Reservation, Interlibrary Loan Notices and other Reminders".
Full-time staff and part-time tutors with OUHK email address get this service automatically.
Finding Table of Contents (TOC) in Library Catalogue
TOC are provided for about 23,000 recently published books. Most of them are English books now. More Chinese books are coming up. You can read the TOC in our
Library
Catalogue, or search it by the "TABLE OF CONTENTS keyword" search option.

Set textbooks for the April 04 semester and exam papers taken in Feb 04 are ready for your use in Library. Follow the steps below to get an electronic copy, if available, in the Electronic Library.

Journal use study in progress
The Library is undertaking a Journal Use Study from April through September 2004. The objective of the study is to explore usage pattern of the journals. In order to obtain accurate usage data, please fill in the slip tagged, if any, to the journal issue after browsing/ reading/photocopying; or just leave the issue after use in the trolleys, collection boxes or on the tables. Your cooperation is essential to the success of this study and is highly appreciated.
