A soft spot for orchids Conservation of endangered local wild species

Arthur Yu Cheong-hang, graduate of Testing Science (Environmental Protection) programme, is a nature lover. From taking photos of natural scenery in his spare time since a young age to engaging in environmental education after graduation, he has devoted himself wholeheartedly to conservation work. With particular interest in local wild orchids that fewer people pay attention to, Arthur has been searching high and low for them. He also set up a website to arouse public interest in the conservation of these precious and endangered plants.

The University hosted its first face-to-face employer networking event since the COVID-19 outbreak with the theme ‘Me&U Create Infinite Possibilities’ on 24 November 2022, in order to strengthen connections and cultivate more collaborations with employers.

Prof. Jeffrey Shaw, Chair Professor of the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University, was invited to speak at the seventh talk of the 'Talk of the Metropolis' series on 9 November 2022. Under the topic 'New Media Art — The Conjunction of Digital Technology and New Modes of Aesthetic Expression and Experience', he shared his insights and experience on adopting various media and digital technologies to engage the audience and convey artistic messages in the past six decades.

Rediscover Your Alma Mater

One of the most popular places on campus for taking graduation photos is the roof garden on 13/F of Block C on Main Campus. With the growth in full-time student enrolment, better learning environment has become much needed. The roof garden was opened in September 2011 to provide students with a pleasant sitting-out area, and there are also indoor area for study and discussion in the corridor leading to the garden.

Apart from enjoying the sunset view and taking graduates photo with your friends and family, there are also other ways to enjoy the place. Has anyone recalled that a reunion party was held on the roof garden before?
