OU People

Venturing far and wide to build better communities MEd graduate Wayne Chau founded Agent of Change, a social enterprise attending to the needs of the grass roots. Recent years have seen him putting more focus on tackling issues related to school children and education and actively promoting quality education. What has Wayne been working on for the betterment of society? Let's find out more.

Teaching with integrity and dedication Mr Cheung Hang-kin was a part-time tutor of Chinese History and Literature (distance learning programme) for over two decades. Despite his departure from Hong Kong after retirement four years ago, he has remained strongly attached to the OUHK. Alumni Linkage has brought to you an interview across the continents with Mr Cheung.

Recaps

The Hon. Paul Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Government, delivered a lecture for the Great Speakers Series on 'The 2018-19 Budget – An outline for future opportunities and challenges of Hong Kong Economy' on 11 May. He also paid a visit to the University's nursing and creative media teaching laboratories.

Prof. Hon-Ming Lam, a pioneer of soybean genomic studies, presented a lecture for the Great Speakers Series on 8 June. He guided the audience through his soybean research from laboratory to field, and illustrated how scientists integrate advanced laboratory investigations and traditional agricultural wisdom to explore soybean resources and build the foundation for soybean crop improvement programmes.
