'Grimm Sisters' tell tales of truth, goodness, beauty and love

Jenny and Pearl Poon, nicknamed 'Grimm Sisters', are prolific writers of books for children. Their words have accompanied many young readers when they were growing up. Interestingly, both veteran writers of children's literature have some kind of connection with the OUHK. One was a part-time tutor of Chinese language and education courses for years, and the other is a graduate of the Master of Education programme.

Peking University Chair and renowned biologist Prof. Rao Yi probed into the prospect of a biotech boom in China in the third lecture of the '40th Anniversary of China's Reform and Opening Up' series, held on 22 Mar.

The Chinese Medicinal Nursing Association (Alumni) invited Dr Hong Shuangshuang, Lecturer at the CUHK's Integrative Medical Centre, to share nourishing recipes and demonstrate acupoint massage in a talk on 14 Mar.

The Alumni Association, MBA Association and China Law Alumni Association had a convivial spring banquet with good food, Latin dance and a lucky draw on 8 Mar.

On 17 Mar, members of the Putonghua Association (Alumni) and participants benefited from a talk by the Association's Honorary Advisor, Prof. Tian Xiaolin, on the rhetorical characteristics of Hong Kong community words.
