Student Affairs Office Winsor Education Foundation Students' Interest-Free Loan Programme

The Winsor Education Foundation Students' Interest-Free Loan Programme is offered to students facing financial challenges in pursuing higher education.

Eligibility

  1. Applicants should be local students (Hong Kong permanent residents) enrolled in full-time Sub-Degree (excluding LiPACE) or Bachelor's Degree Programmes;
  2. Applicants must demonstrate genuine financial needs;
  3. Applicants should have applied for the HKMU Bursary Scheme in the current academic year; and
  4. Applicants should attain a minimum CGPA of 2.0 or above *.

* Records of CGPA and grades would be based on the official transcript of studies generated by the University at the time of loan assessment.

Form and Level of Assistance

  1. A total of five interest-free loans, each valued at HK$20,000, are offered annually.
  2. Loan recipients who graduate with First Class Honours (for Bachelor's Degree Programmes) or outstanding results (for Sub-Degree Programmes) will have their loan repayments fully waived, effectively converting the loans into scholarships.

Assessment Criteria

  1. The assessment will take into account the financial needs of the applicants and their families, along with academic performance. Priority will be given to applicants with outstanding academic performance who were unsuccessful in the HKMU Bursary Scheme, followed by those who are bursary recipients.
  2. Eligible applicants are not guaranteed to be offered a loan. Nominations will be endorsed by the Student Financial Awards Committee (SFAC), and subsequently submitted to the Winsor Education Foundation for final approval.

How to Apply

  1. The Student Affairs Office (SAO) will invite shortlisted eligible applicants to apply in March each year. Applicants must complete the application form provided by the Winsor Education Foundation.
  2. Applicants should read the “Guidance Notes to Applicants” [WL (2025/26) Guide-e] thoroughly before completing the application form.
  3. The completed form, together with photocopies of the applicant's and parent's Hong Kong Identity Cards, should be submitted in person to the SAO by the stipulated deadline. Incomplete or late applications will NOT be considered.
