The Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP) and Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Students (NLSPS) are administered by the Student Finance Office (SFO) under the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency (WFSFAA).

FASP provides means-tested financial assistance to needy students and the NLSPS is used to complement the FASP to provide non-means-tested loan(s) to eligible students to settle tuition fees.

Application Period for 2024 Spring Term
19 Feb – 22 Mar 2024

The age limit for FASP is 30 or below while there is no age limit for NLSPS.

 

(5-Credit System)

Students may be regarded as full-time students if they take distance learning courses with Registration Value (RV) of not less than 45 in one academic year or not less than 25 for any one term. Students may be eligible for assistance under FASP or NLSPS if they fulfill the criteria as stated in the Guidance Notes of the respective Scheme.

(3-Credit-unit System)

Students may be regarded as full-time students if they take distance learning courses with Registration Value (RV) of not less than 34 in one academic year or not less than 17 for any one term. Students may be eligible for assistance under FASP or NLSPS if they fulfill the criteria as stated in the Guidance Notes of the respective Scheme.

  1. Eligible students will be invited for applications for FASP and NLSPS by e-mail notifications sent by HKMU.
  2. Students of the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) should read the Guidance Notes for FASP [FASP/1B(2023)] and/or the Guidance Notes for NLSPS [NLSPS/1B(2023)] if they wish to apply for FASP and/or NLSPS. They should also refer to the Supplementary Guidance Notes FASP/DL1(5)_Spring (for 5-credit system) and FASP/DL1(3)_Spring (for 3-credit-unit system) for 2024 Spring Term.
  3. The online submission of application is not applicable to students of distance-learning programmes of HKMU. Applicants please complete the paper-based application form which can be obtained from the Student Affairs Office of HKMU.
