The MTR Student Travel Scheme offers concessionary fares to full-time day course students aged 25 or below. Eligible students can apply directly through the MTR Online Application Platform. There is no need for a hardcopy form or University endorsement. If you are eligible and wish to apply, please note the following:

  1. Applicants are strongly recommended to view the lazy pack and tutorial video before completing the online application.
  2. Applications should be submitted ONLINE via the MTR website or MTR Mobile App.
  3. Applicants are required to upload a valid HKMU Student Identity Card. For new applicants without a student identity card at the time of application, the MTR will accept the Enrollment Certificate of Academic Year 2025/2026 issued by the university as a special arrangement.
  4. Applicants cannot purchase the temporary Student Octopus Card before their application is approved. Therefore, we advise students to submit applications as soon as the online application platform opens to benefit from the discounted fares.
  5. To help protect the environment, the MTR encourage you to apply online. Hardcopy applications requiring University endorsement will only be accepted with a strong justification. Students who are principal cardholders of the BOC HKMU Dual Currency Platinum Card can apply for the Interest-free Tuition Fee Installment Plan to pay their tuition fees. For details, please refer to the University website.

The Methodist Study Trust aims to provide financial support to physically handicapped and needy students so that they can fulfil their dreams in further study.

 

Eligibility

- Students with physical disabilities or from families with financial difficulties;

- Must be enrolled in a full-time programme at a local tertiary institution or university;

- Requires financial assistance to cover education-related expenses; and

- If the applicants are physically able students, they must be 25 years old or younger and have never completed any post-secondary programmes. Tuition assistance will also be limited to university degree-level studies or below.

Li Kwan Hung Education Fund aims to assist full-time students with disabilities who have financial difficulties to study with their able-bodied counterparts in local educational institutes at various levels.

 

Eligibility

  1. Hong Kong permanent residents;
  2. Students with physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, special educational needs (SENs) (including autism / attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder / dyslexic), chronic illness, visual impairment or hearing impairment;
  3. Full-time students studying with their able-bodied counterparts in local educational, technical or vocational training institutes at primary, secondary, post-secondary, university or post-graduate level;
  4. In need of financial assistance for educational purposes; and
  5. Estimated expenses of the applicant for the academic year are not covered by other bursaries or funds (according to the status as at the deadline of application).
