The MTR Corporation Limited offers MTR concessionary fares to full time day course students. Full-time students who are aged 25 or below are eligible to apply.

How to Apply

  1. Submit ONLINE application via MTR website or MTR Mobile App.
  2. Applicants are strongly encouraged to read the lazy pack with a tutorial video (please click here) before completing the online application.
  3. Applicants are required to upload a valid HKMU Student Identity Card. For New Applications, students who do not have student identity card yet at the time of application, the enrollment certificate of Academic Year 2022/2023 issued by the university will also be accepted as a special arrangement.
  4. From this Academic Year onwards, the purchase of temporary Octopus will not be provided before the application approved. As such, students in need are advised to submit applications as soon as the online application platform is opened to enjoy the concessionary fares.
  5. To better protect the environment together, you are encouraged to submit the online application.  Hardcopy application (which school endorsement on the hardcopy form is required) would only be accepted if reasonable justification is provided.  If hardcopy application is deemed necessary, please contact the Student Affairs Office.

The Kowloon Motor Bus Company (1933) Limited set up "KMB Fare Saver" in HKMU. Holders of Adult Octopus card and Personalised Octopus card with Student Status are entitled to enjoy the fare concession.

The Kowloon Motor Bus Co. (1933) Ltd ("KMB") has launched a new "KMB Monthly Pass Buy 2 Get 1 Free" offer to students.

From 17 August to 31 December 2022, eligible students, who are club1933 members, purchase and activate the first KMB Monthly Pass with their Octopus or Octopus product with valid "Student Status" and buy two more Passes consecutively after successful registration can enjoy the rebate. $780 will be refunded to the Octopus card via the Octopus mobile app or at the Octopus Service Station within ten working days to 30 days after the third Pass was activated, which is equivalent to the "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" offer.

How to Apply

  • Applicants should submit the completed paper application form [FEP (2022/23) Form-e] and supporting documents to SAO in person.
  • Please read the “Guidance Notes” [FEP (2022/23) Guide-e] before completing the application form.
  • Application Deadline: 28 September 2022 (Wednesday).
  • Eligible applicants are not guaranteed to be offered grants.  The University will submit a recommendation list to the Providence Foundation for final approval.
