White Cane Programme 2022/2023

[About the programme]

Physical activity is important for everyone’s health and wellbeing, however, many visually impaired people find it difficult for doing sports because of their sight loss and appreciate being taken out for outdoor activities, such as hiking, doing workout at the gym and using public sports facilities.

This programme aims to recruit friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to assist visually impaired people for doing sports activities, gain confidence, and brighten the days for them through personal touch whilst networking with others in group meetings and activities.

[Who can join?]

All full-time undergraduate students who are passionate to serve visual impairment people are welcome to join. Cantonese proficiency is required for this programme. To complete the program, participants are required to attend all training sessions and services.

Darts For All Tournament 2023

[Activity Details]

Have you ever imaged that visually impaired people can also play darts? Have you ever wondered how visually impaired people aim the target if they couldn’t see the board? Here is a great opportunity for you to find out the answer! Hong Kong Blind Sports Federation and Student Affairs Office are going to organize a Darts For All Tournament 2023 on 25 March 2023 (Saturday) at HKMU. Therefore we would like to recruit some student volunteers to become the buddy of visually impaired athletes to join the darts competition!

[Why become a buddy? ]            

  • Opportunity to meet and build relationship with visually impaired people
  • Learn to understand the everyday lives, needs and challenges from a different perspective
  • Promote disability inclusion as HKMU ambassador

[Who can join?]

All full-time undergraduate students who are passionate to serve the visually impaired community is welcome to join. Cantonese proficiency is required for this activity.
