Artistry of teachers and students on display

Creative arts teachers and students were invited by Hulu Culture to participate in the Heritage X Arts X Design Walk Plus project this year. They created innovative artwork including animations, posters and artwork installation around the theme of Hong Kong light industries for the exhibition.

Student ink painting animations showcased

Two students of the Animation and Visual Effects programme, Jum Nga-man and Ko Suet-yiu, created two ink painting animations for CITIC Pacific which were exhibited in the lobby of CITIC Tower.

Champion in video contest

HKMU students formed teams to take part in a video contest organised by AHK Fund Limited. The team comprising Tong Ka-yi, Leung Wing-tung and Li Lee-yan, students of the Animation and Visual Effects programme, won the championship in the Tertiary Institute and Open Group with their animation showcasing the beauty and features of Hong Kong.

Talent of animation and creative design acknowledged

Graduates and students of the Animation and Visual Effects programme participated in the Creative Achievement Awards 2022 co-organised by GrandTech and Adobe. Among the participants, Lai Kwan-chak, Law Ho-yin and Shamus Yu won the Best Creative Award in the Moving Image Category (Higher education) with their animated work The White Hair Boy, while Fong Kam-man and Chan Chor-tung were awarded Merit Awards in the Graphic Design Category (Higher education) for their artworks, Time and Follow Your Heart.

Romping home with film awards

Two teams of creative arts students and graduates participated in the Jumping Frames — Hong Kong International Movement-image Festival 2022 with their short films Bon Appétit and O, which seized the Jumping Frames Audience Award and the Jumping Frames Student Award respectively.

Laurels for annual IET prize

Electronic and computer engineering student Hu Xinrong received the IET Prize 2022 and a HK$3,000 cash prize from the Institution of Engineering and Technology Hong Kong with her outstanding academic results and active participation in community services and activities in the concerned field.
