Inspiring students

The University has been ramping up its student development activities in recent years. Co-curricular and extracurricular activities have become an integral part of many HKMU academic programmes, and students are regular attendants, and often winners, of high-level external competitions. Internally, the Service Learning initiative run by the Student Affairs Office (SAO) in collaboration with Schools offers a growing range of meaningful programmes through which students can give their knowledge and take away life lessons.

Direct services to help students navigate their career paths have also expanded in scale. At the university level, the SAO has recently launched the 'Date a CEO; Be a CEO' mentorship programme, the Entrepreneurship Month and the Career Month, while Schools are establishing connections with employers in specific industries. To bring in the wisdom and networks of experienced graduates, the University is currently founding the Hong Kong Metropolitan University Alumni Association in a unified effort to connect with the alumni.
