Writing talents bloom in competitions

HKMU students continue to be recognized for their distinguished writing talents. At the 48th Youth Literary Awards, BA (Hons) in Chinese graduate Wong Kwo became champion of the fiction (senior) category. Also winning championship was So Shuk-sze, double-degree student in Chinese studies who participated in the open group of the China Aerospace Dream essay competition co-organized by the Inspire (HK) Youth Education Foundation and the GBA DG-HK Elite Association. At the national level, MA in Creative Writing graduate Suo Peng took home awards in two competitions in a row, winning merit prizes with his prose and poetry works in a national intervarsity literary competition and in the provincial division of a Chinese-language college student writing contest. He also earned the Top Ten Poet title with his winning poem.

Accolades for ingenious designs

In the inaugural CA2 Creative Achievement Awards 2021 organized by GrandTech and Adobe, four pieces of work by HKMU creative arts students stood out in the tertiary division. Cassi Chan took home the Best Work Award in the graphic design category, while three other teams won merit prizes in the moving image category. On a separate note, two teams from the Creative Advertising and Media Design programme received merit awards at the HK4As Students' Award 2021.
