Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) held the “Honouring Support & Achievement – Donor-Recipient Gathering 2024/25” today (26 June) to express its heartfelt gratitude to donors, bringing together nearly 200 donors, corporate representatives, beneficiary students and University management. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data to analyse extensive medical records and lifestyle factors is shaping the future of smart healthcare. Leveraging healthcare data from Hong Kong and various regions of mainland China, the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) has collaborated with researchers from multiple institutions to develop AI-enhanced predictive models. These models aim to assess the risks of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (CCVDs) in the general population, as well as in patients with specific diseases, such as diabetes mellitus and cancers. The touring exhibition “Lost and Found in Hong Kong: The Unsung Chinese Heroes at D-Day” is now on display at the Ho Sik Yee Library of Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU). Showcasing a collection of rare historical materials, the exhibition unveils the little-known history of Chinese naval officers' participation in the Normandy landings (D-Day) during World War II (WWII). The exhibition is co-organised by the “D-Day in Hong Kong” initiative of the Urban Studies Institute (USI), HKMU Library, and the Department of Social Sciences, HKMU School of Arts and Social Sciences.
