Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) has been ranked in the 781–790 range in the QS World University Rankings 2026, released by the international higher education organisation Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). This marks HKMU's debut in the world university rankings, establishing it as Hong Kong's first self-financing university and first university of applied sciences (UAS) to achieve this recognition.

The QS World University Rankings evaluate institutions using various indicators, including academic reputation, research impact and employment outcomes.
