Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) has been granted 1,891 subsidised places across 21 programmes for the 2026/27 academic year under the latest round of the Education Bureau (EDB)'s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) for undergraduate programmes. This includes 1,177 places for 10 Applied Degree (APD) programmes. HKMU continued to secure the highest number of funded programmes and places among the eight participating self-financing institutions....

HKMU joins UAS Alliance Delegation to Guangzhou and Shenzhen to strengthen collaboration
On 24 and 25 June, Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing, President of Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU), and Prof. Alan Au Kai-ming, Vice President (Strategic Initiatives), participated in a delegation from the Alliance of Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS Alliance) to Guangzhou and Shenzhen. In the latest round of the “Enhancement and Start-up Grant Scheme for Self-financing Post-secondary Education” (ESGS) by the Education Bureau, HKMU secured over HK$77 million in funding to establish two new undergraduate programmes in 2026/27: a Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc(Hons)) in Diagnostic Radiography and a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours (BAS(Hons)) in Robotics and Automation Engineering....
