HKMU Talk of the Metropolis: Dr Charles Chen Yidan encourages innovation in education to meet future challenges

HKMU receives HK$300 million donation from the Wu Jieh Yee Charitable Foundation for new campus development

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) received a generous donation of HK$300 million from the Wu Jieh Yee Charitable Foundation (the Foundation), marking the largest single private donation in the University's history and the largest donation ever made by the Foundation. HKMU secures HK$77 million in funding to launch two new programmes in diagnostic radiography and robotics and automation engineering

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) is committed to nurturing future talent through professional education, supporting Hong Kong as an international hub for high-calibre talents. HKMU research team develops eco-bricks made from plastic waste to promote waste reduction and sustainable green building materials

Environmental pollution caused by plastic products has escalated and become a growing concern. A research team from Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) has studied the production of eco-bricks using plastic waste to promote the recycling and reuse of plastic. The new eco-bricks can reduce landfill waste by turning waste into treasure and provide the construction industry with another environmentally friendly building material. The eco-bricks outperform traditional bricks in terms of durability, waterproofing, and sound and thermal insulation and offer significant cost savings in construction projects. With a short-term patent granted by the Intellectual Property Department of Hong Kong, it is hoped that the eco-bricks will be widely used in the construction industry in the future to promote sustainable green building materials....

Student team from School of Science and Technology garners Third Prize at Huawei ICT Competition Hong Kong

Three students from the School of Science and Technology, Liu Yuhang, Jiang Haodong and Imran Mohamed Maheen Mohamed, teamed up to join the Huawei ICT Competition 2024–2025 in Hong Kong.
