At the signing ceremony, Prof. Philips Wang Fu-lee, Dean of HKMU School of Science & Technology says that HKMU is committed to contributing to the development of engineering, communication technology and information technology in Hong Kong. The collaboration with HKT will strengthen the exchange between HKMU and HKT in various areas and contribute towards building a smart city.
Mr Steve Ng, Managing Director, Commercial Group of HKT remarks that HKT as a technology, media and telecommunications leader in Hong Kong plays an important role as an incubator for tech-savvy young talent, offering them opportunities to participate in the digital transformation journey of enterprises and smart city development, and enabling them to gain exposure in the Greater Bay Area after tertiary graduation.
The School of Science and Technology of Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) and HKT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today (2 February) to foster innovative collaboration, research and talent development, paving the way for the sustainable development of the ICT industry in Hong Kong.
Under the MoU, the two parties will collaborate on the development and enhancement of academic and research programmes, facilitate knowledge exchange and experience sharing, and provide support and guidance for students on internship and career development.

Prof. Wang said, “HKMU is committed to contributing to the development of engineering, communication technology and information technology in Hong Kong by offering a variety of related bachelor's degree programmes, designed with different depth and breadth, covering Electronic and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Data Science. HKMU cultivates hundreds of professionals for society every year to foster the development of Hong Kong's technology industry. The collaboration with HKT will strengthen the exchange between HKMU and HKT in various areas and contribute towards building a smart city.”
