Governance

HKMU strives to be a faculty-driven, student-centred university. We aim to ensure that the University community shares a common vision and that everybody has a clear understanding of the direction in which the University is headed. We will foster an environment in which every staff member is involved and is able to contribute to the development of the University.

HKMU will continue to follow its long-established policies and strategies in financial management to deliver its mission and ensure financial sustainability.

For the longer-term development and institutional advancement, the University will forge a stronger relationship with friends and supporters, including the alumni, tutors, serving and former members of the Council and the Court, and our community partners.

Commitments

We are committed to:

46

strengthening the sense of belonging and communication among colleagues and between Offices;

47

fostering an environment for faculty and staff to participate in the University's decision-making;

48

reinforcing prudent financial management;

49

securing a solid financial foundation in support of the University's ongoing commitments; and

50

establishing the HKMU Foundation to strengthen the relationship among friends and supporters of HKMU.

The University will ensure that its decision-making process is transparent to the relevant stakeholders.

We are committed to:

51

ensuring accurate acquisition and dissemination of data and information among our faculty, staff, Schools and Offices;

52

establishing a culture conducive to the use of data in decision-making at all levels;

53

championing the use of big data in different parts of the University's operations; and

54

establishing a central office to undertake data analytics to support strategic planning.
