Our Partners

Networking and partnerships

HKMU aims to connect and foster stronger links with the business, industry, university and research communities in Hong Kong, the rest of the GBA and the mainland, and internationally. We will collaborate with the community on worthwhile projects for the benefit of our students.

At the programme level, we aim to promote student exchanges, internships and study tours with our international partners. At the faculty level, we encourage and support individual academics and research groups to network with their peers from all over the world to cultivate synergy in research and technology transfer in specific fields.

Commitments

We are committed to:

30

engaging with the industry and business communities for academic development, delivery, exchange and employment of graduates;

31

encouraging collaboration for student exchange, joint academic programmes, interdisciplinary projects, partnership in research, and knowledge transfer;

32

strengthening the promotion of staff and student participation in community service and research; and

33

recruiting more international students through our network of international partners.

Community engagement

HKMU considers it an obligation to promote the educational, social and cultural well-being of the general public through community learning courses, cultural events and other worthwhile community projects. The University will continue its efforts and, at the same time, explore new initiatives, in knowledge transfer and wider engagement activities beyond higher education, leading to the advancement of the economy and society. Examples of such initiatives include training courses for local SMEs on GBA opportunities, and courses for the community on parenting, resilience, etc.

Wherever possible, we will take the opportunity to engage with the business, industrial, commercial and public sectors as partners to jointly promote such social, cultural and educational ventures.

Commitments

We are committed to:

34

engaging with the community through courses, services, events and projects so that the expertise and intellectual assets of HKMU can be carried over to a new dimension to benefit the public;

35

partnering with industry, commerce, cultural and public organisations to further community engagement initiatives; and

36

allocating resources in support of our community engagement efforts.

Alumni engagement

Our alumni are our ambassadors — they carry with them distinct qualities that reflect the education experience provided by HKMU. We will continue to reach out to our alumni to learn more about their career progress and needs. In turn, we hope to gather their valuable input to enhance our curriculum.

We wish to promote synergy among the alumni community and encourage them to support one another in their professions. We will also turn to our graduates for support in various ways, including inviting them to act as mentors to our students.

Commitments

We are committed to:

37

fostering stronger bonds between the University and our alumni;

38

promoting success stories of outstanding HKMU graduates; and

39

developing the HKMUAA as the official platform for alumni engagement and support.
