Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) and Ernst & Young Group Limited (EY) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently to collaborate towards their shared goal of nurturing the next generation of business talent and professionals for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA).

The MoU was signed by HKMU Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration (Business School) Dean Prof. Alan Au Kai-ming and EY Hong Kong and Macau Managing Partner Jasmine Lee Shun-yi.

EY has been supportive of HKMU's endeavours to enrich the student learning experience, providing various internship, training and mentorship opportunities for its business students and graduates. This MoU will take the partnership between the two parties to the next level, expanding the scope of their collaboration, focusing on talent development for and in the GBA region. In addition to work-based and experiential learning programmes, the collaboration activities will include co-developing teaching cases, organising joint seminars, forums and case competitions, and more.

Prof. Alan Au expressed his excitement about this new milestone in the longstanding partnership between HKMU and EY. Addressing the ceremony, he said, “This MoU will foster even more opportunities for impactful collaboration between HKMU and EY.

Through various academic, research, and education and development initiatives, the two parties will work together to promote knowledge transfer, talent mobility and business connectivity within the GBA region. We hope to open up new avenues for businesses, young people and other stakeholders to access the opportunities the region has to offer.”

Jasmine Lee said: “We believe that collaboration, future business talent, and the GBA are three crucial elements for the success of today’s global economy. Collaboration allows us to pool resources, share knowledge and expertise, and achieve greater results than we could on our own. The GBA is a prime example of the power of collaboration, and we have a lot of potential to build our future business talent pool in this area. Cities in the GBA form a hub of innovation, technology and business activity that is driving dynamic growth in China and beyond.”
