梁偉賢, Leung Wai-yin Hugo

梁偉賢於2015年畢業四年制課程，在2015年中國電氣與電子工程學會消費電子國際會議上，他的「智慧藥丸分配器」設計獲得了最佳論文獎。
藥丸分配器通過聲音和LED閃爍提醒患者預設劑量和時間間隔。與目前市場上的產品不同，梁偉賢的設計可以連接到全球任何手機。在解釋它是如何工作的時，他說：「便攜式碉堡有三層。最低級別是具有各種設備的控制器，這些設備可以連接到遠端位置的行動電話。患者通過聲音警報和閃爍發出警報。如果他們不遵守規定的制度，可以通過簡訊將數據發送給親戚和朋友進行跟進。藥丸分配器有四個藥槽，加上一個帶LED警報的備用，頂部是一個500毫升的水瓶。雨果花了三個月的研究和編碼來完成他的設計，但他覺得這是值得他所有的時間和精力。
梁偉賢的公開考試成績令人失望，他在報讀公開大學之前對自己的未來感到茫然，他現在意識到這是他人生中的一個重大轉捩點。他感謝公開大學的學習環境、行業聯繫，以及老師們的積極指導和鼓勵。該大學現在正在與一家製藥公司一起探索他的設計的商業潛力。他希望這將有利於老年人和慢性病患者，以及整個社會。
完成學業后不久，梁偉賢加入了一家自動化技術公司，擔任助理工程師。
謝江海, Tse Kong-hoi
工程管理工程學碩士
Master of Engineering in Engineering Management
謝江海在中五畢業后離開學校，後悔在進入職場時沒有認真對待學業。為了彌補這一點，他在煤氣公司當學徒時完成了兼職高級文憑課程。2007年，他向著獲得大學學位的夢想邁出了一步，報讀了香港公開大學的電腦工程學位課程，並在短短三年內完成了學業。在學習期間，他曾兩次受雇於香港鐵路公司，然後受雇於海洋公園，從事機器維修工作。畢業后，他從老東家湯加斯那裡得到了一份工作機會。
在培訓主任的新職位上，謝江海負責培訓學徒和技術人員，並需要不時與政府官員和工程師打交道。為了進一步發展，他決定在導師的全力支援下攻讀工程管理碩士學位。謝江海於2016年畢業。
這位學徒轉為學徒培訓師非常感謝香港都會大學第二次獲得更高資格的機會，這為他的職業道路開闢了許多機會。
張金華, Cheung Kam-wah

能源及環境的可持續發展理學碩士

張金華博士是富士通香港有限公司電信部總經理。他於2011年獲得公開大學能源與環境可持續發展理學碩士學位。次年，他進一步參加了我們的工程博士課程，繼續學習能源管理並於2015年畢業。
他偏愛我們的遠端學習計劃的一個原因是，它們是與各行各業的人建立聯繫的絕佳平臺。“我的許多同學都是大公司的管理人員。其他人來自以環境保護為使命的非政府組織。我們經常自由地交換意見，我們都從中受益，“他解釋說。他同樣對教員的專業精神印象深刻，更不用說課程的全面性和實用性。這些正是他工作所需要的。
張博士的客戶包括大型企業、電信公司和金融機構。他的客戶越來越關注環境保護。他熟悉環境保護，在與客戶溝通方面具有優勢。同時，在招標過程中進行投標時，擁有相關的專有技術是一個明顯的優勢。這些課程涉及該學科的各個方面，並在工作中打開了他的思想。2013年，他的學術成就為他贏得了傑出學生獎。
Jonathan handles all external affairs include business development, patents write up and public relations. He is frequently interviewed by media and is considered a pioneer in 3D printing products.
After graduating from OUHK, Krutz obtained an M.Sc. in Engineering Management from CityU. He is now completing his second master degree, M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering, at CUHK. Krutz has a wide range of working experience. He has been with Siemens, VTech, and PCCW.
Hugo Leung Wai-yin, who graduated from his four-year programme in 2015, won the Best Paper Award for his ‘intelligent pill-dispenser’ design at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering’s International Conference on Consumer Electronics – China 2015.
The pill-dispenser alerts patients via sound and LED flashes to pre-set dosage and time intervals. Unlike units currently on the market, Hugo’s design connects to any mobile phone globally. In explaining how it works, he said: ‘There are three layers in the portable pillbox. The lowest level is a controller with various devices which can be connected to mobile phones in remote locations. Patients are alerted by a sound alarm and flashes. Should they fail to follow their prescribed regime, data can be sent via SMS to relatives and friends for follow up.’ The pill-dispenser has four medicine slots, plus a back-up with a LED alert, topped by a 500ml water bottle. It took Hugo three months of research and coding to complete his design, but he feels it was worth all his time and effort.
Hugo’s public examination results were disappointing and he was at a loss about his future before enrolling at the OUHK, which he now realizes was a major turning point in his life. He is grateful for the OUHK’s learning environment, its industry links and the positive guidance and encouragement from his teachers. The University is now exploring the commercial potential of his design with a pharmaceutical company. He hopes that this will benefit the elderly and chronically ill, as well as the society at large.
Soon after completing his studies, Hugo joined an automation technology company as an assistant engineer. He is responsible for the design and development of automation devices. The target is to minimize human labor and increase the quality of products. He is developing products which are used in various sections, including healthcare, manufacturing and consumer electronics.
