Three HKMU students receive "For Our Future" Scholarships

Edison So Kwun-wang from the Physiotherapy programme and Kitty Yip Tik-yung from the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence programme each received the For Our Future Scholarship from the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation (the Foundation), with an award of HK$50,000. Additionally, PhD student Aubrey Tse Yuet-tung was honoured with the For Our Future Innovation and Technology Scholarship, a newly established initiative aimed at supporting local PhD students studying STEM-related subjects, with an award of HK$80,000....

HKMU co-organises National Security Forum to enhance community awareness of national security

To mark the 10th National Security Education Day on 15 April, Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU), in collaboration with the Kowloon City District Youth Development and Civic Education Committee, the Kowloon City District Office and the Kowloon City District Secondary School Heads Association, organised the National Security Forum on 11 April. The event took place on the HKMU Jockey Club Campus and was attended by over 300 teachers and students from 17 secondary schools in the Kowloon City District. The forum included keynote speeches, a roundtable discussion, and a Q&A session aimed at examining the retrospect and prospect of national security education in Hong Kong....

HKMU outstanding prospective teachers recognised with accolades

Thirteen students from the School of Education and Languages (E&L) and one student from the Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education (LiPACE) were honoured for their exceptional teaching skills and passion for education at the 12th Hong Kong Outstanding Prospective Teachers Award. Among them, So Yuk-yu and Chang Sin received the prestigious Gold Award, and Long Wanting, Lo Man-ling, Wong Yuet-sze and Xie Peishan earned the Silver Award. Stephy Wong Yuk-yan and Siu Chi-fung were recognised with the Bronze Award, and Lin Yan-yi, Wendy Susana Chau Zhong, Chan Yui-pui, Poon Yin-ting and Lau Ching-yan received the Merit Award....

HKMU athletes sparkle at USFHK competitions

This year, HKMU athletes once again delivered an outstanding performance in the USFHK competitions. In the 2024-2025 USFHK Taekwondo Competition, our HKMU Taekwondo Team secured the men's team first runner-up position, marking another outstanding achievement. In Men's Black Belt Kyorugi, Hau Pok-wai clinched the championship in the Light group, while Wong Kin-laam and Xu Jinxuan earned third place in the Fin group and the Welter group respectively. In Men's Black Belt Poomsae, Xu Jinxuan and Wong Tsz-shun each won a bronze medal in the “Style 6 & Koryo” category and “Style 8 & Taebak” category respectively. Additionally, they, along with team member Li Lap-fu, brought home the silver medal in the Men's Poomsae Team event....
