Hong Kong Metropolitan University (“HKMU”) and the Kowloon Motor Bus Co. (1933) Ltd. (“KMB’) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) on 5 May (Today) to launch an internship programme for HKMU students studying in different disciplines. The collaboration between KMB and HKMU by providing internship opportunities to HKMU students in various aspects, including short-term career-oriented courses/workshops, helps students equip themselves for future development.
Under the MOU, KMB will provide internship opportunities and short-term career-oriented courses/workshops to HKMU full-time students in the 2022 summer. The short-term career-oriented courses and workshops cover various topics, including documentation requirements and practical use of English in a listed company, legal aspects of vocational rehabilitation, and foundation courses in bus mechanical engineering. These aim to widen students' understanding of business operations and public institutions. KMB will also provide internship opportunities such as video production, and marketing to help youngsters develop practical on-the-job experience before entering the workplace.
Steve Hui, Administration Director of KMB, said that KMB spares no effort in nurturing talents, especially the new generation. “We are delighted to cooperate with Hong Kong Metropolitan University and believe that KMB can share practical working experience to help students identify their strengths and potential in the real-life working environment.” KMB looks forward to cooperating closely with academia to nurture more talents.
HKMU President Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing expressed his sincere thanks to KMB for its support for the University. “I am delighted that KMB has partnered with HKMU for the first time to provide our students with the opportunity to participate in KMB’s diversified workplace training, including dialogue with management.”
