Record number of HKMU students awarded Link University Scholarship

Two faculty members of the School of Arts and Social Sciences won awards for papers they presented at the ninth Annual Conference of Chinese Creative Writing, one of the largest academic conferences on Chinese-language creative writing in China. Dr Shawn Shao Dong, Acting Head of Creative Arts and Assistant Professor, received a First-Class Award for a piece analysing the narrative in Black Myth: Wukongm, an action role-playing game adapted from the classic novel Journey to the West, while Assistant Professor Dr Benson Tong Tsz-ben's discussion of Chinese communication under the lens of creative writing was recognised with a Second-Class Award.
The Annual Conference of Chinese Creative Writing this year was organised by Jiangxi Normal University, Shanghai University and Higher Education Press under the guidance of the Global Association of Chinese Creative Writing. It brought together over 400 academics and experts from all over the country to discuss issues related to Chinese creative writing as a course, an academic discipline and a discourse.
