HKMU sets new record with 1,185 government scholarship recipients

The HKMU Basketball Team clinches the first runner-up title at the 2025–26 USFHK Men's 3x3 Championship.

HKMU athletes earn both team and individual honours in the 2025–26 USFHK Karatedo Competition.

The HKMU Taekwondo Team secure 10 medals in the Poomsae and Kyorugi events.

HKMU Taekwondo athlete Xu Jinxuan claims the first runner‑up position in the Men's Black Belt Poomsae (Style 6 & Koryo) and second runner‑up in the team event.

The HKMU Dragon Boat Team is second runner-up in the Mixed Small Boat 200m.

The U-Teams in Table Tennis, Volleyball and Fencing also delivered commendable performances at USFHK.
Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) Sports Teams (U‑Teams) achieved outstanding results in the 2025–26 University Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China (USFHK) competitions. In four sports, the U-Teams captured two championships and recorded two first runner-up finishes and 10 second runner-up finishes, a testament to the perseverance and teamwork of our student-athletes.
The HKMU Taekwondo Team delivered an impressive performance, winning 10 medals in the Poomsae and Kyorugi events, including two individual championships.
The HKMU Basketball Team clinched the men's first runner‑up title in its debut in the 3×3 Basketball Championship.
On the water, the Dragon Boat Team showed strong teamwork and endurance, earning the second runner‑up spot in the Mixed Small Boat 200m.
In Karatedo, HKMU athletes demonstrated strong technical skills in both team and individual events, securing second runner-up positions in both the Men's Team Kata and Women's Kumite −55kg category.
The U-Teams in Table Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball, Fencing, and Track and Field also delivered commendable performances at USFHK, while gaining valuable match experience.
The results highlight the University's commitment to students' whole-person development. HKMU extends its warmest congratulations to all U‑Team athletes and its heartfelt appreciation to all the HKMU student athletes, coaches and Physio Support Team members for their unwavering dedication and support.
HKMU is now home to 22 representative sports teams. The University will continue to nurture a vibrant sporting culture on campus and provide robust support for student-athletes in their pursuit of excellence.
