Zhang Jie, a student in the Master of Philosophy programme in the School of Arts and Social Sciences, presented his latest research findings at the 8th National Academic Conference of ChengDu Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum for Master and Doctoral Students and the Academic Conference on Li Bai and Du Fu Studies (成都杜甫草堂博物館第八屆全國碩博研究生學術會議暨李杜研究學術會議). His paper, titled “The Reception and Spiritual Inheritance of Du Fu in Hong Kong Press (香港報刊的杜甫接受與精神傳承) (1949–2024)”, was awarded First Prize at the conference.
The conference aims to provide young scholars with a platform to exchange ideas and explore their potential in the study of Li Bai and Du Fu, and to promote the enduring appeal of Chinese classical poetry. This year, only 12 essays were selected from over 200 outstanding submissions from across the country.
