Programme Description

This programme provides broad coverage of the key areas of management, then gives students the opportunity to acquire knowledge in more than one of the following functional areas: banking and finance, human resource management, international business, logistics and supply chain management, and marketing. Graduates can enjoy enhanced career opportunities in a wide range of business careers.

Students pursuing an Honours degree will gain a broader perspective as well as greater depth in the area, and will enhance their research and practical skills.

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs)

  1. Explain and critically review business theories and concepts to identify issues, analyse situations, and develop solutions for multi-faceted problems in organisational settings.
  2. Critically evaluate issues and make informed judgements in view of the organisation’s strategies as well as ethical considerations.
  3. Make meaningful contributions as a leader and member in a team setting and communicate effectively.
  4. Command knowledge of the practices and activities of different aspects of management.
  5. Integrate and apply advanced analytical skills to address issues and make business and management decisions related to complex situations.
  6. Assimilate and synthesise new knowledge in different aspects of management, apply it to solve problems related to management, and develop practical recommendations.

(c) a further 40 credits from courses within the above six concentrations.

(d) an additional 20 credits, as necessary, from any English and/or Chinese Foundation, Middle or Higher level courses offered by the University.

 Students are required to complete 160 credits but they may opt to graduate with a lower qualification such as Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA] (120 credits), Bachelor of Business Administration in Management [BBAMGT] (120 credits), Associate of Business Administration [ABA] (80 credits) or Certificate in Business Administration [CBA] (30 credits) after completing the required number of credits and fulfilling the requirements of the programme regulations.

Choosing the first courses to get started

Undergraduate students taking the BBA programmes in English are recommended to begin their BBA studies with one of the School’s introductory courses such as BUS B103 English and Communications for Business IBIS B123 Business Computing Applications.

They are then free to complete a general degree, or to specialize in a range of business disciplines.
