LiPACE aims to promote and provide flexible and high-quality lifelong learning opportunities for career advancement, personal development and appreciation of life. The Institute offers professional/certificate/diploma programmes, workplace training, full-time Project Yi Jin courses/pre-associate degrees/diplomas for school leavers, non-local degrees and short courses. The Institute has recorded an annual enrollment growth of over 30% in recent years.
LiPACE introduced a number of programmes, including diploma programmes in psychology, accounting, make-up and creative image styling, as well as an advanced diploma programme in social sciences. It launched Asia’s first Professional Diploma in Façade Engineering and Management and a Professional Certificate in Renal Nursing. Also, Project Yi Jin added four new programmes, covering music appreciation, aviation services, personal financial planning and Western cuisine and cake making.
The Institute presented several programmes to support the development of cultural and creative industries. It broadened its partnership with Middlesex University in the UK to offer undergraduate honours degree programmes in fashion design, styling and photography. Certificate programmes in technical fashion knowledge, ceramic and glass arts, interior design and photographic imaging were also launched. As part of its cultural study programmes, certificate courses in Cantonese opera and contemporary China studies have now been included.

Collaboration between LiPACE and the Macau Business Management Educational Centre gained further momentum with the planned offering of new programmes in wedding planning, public relations and marketing. In addition, cementing our ties overseas, the Institute signed an articulation and credit transfer agreement with the César Ritz Colleges, a famous hotel management school in Switzerland. A three-year, full-time BSc (Hons) Psychology programme, in partnership with the University of Salford in the UK, was also launched.
To foster the all-round development of students with an interest in the arts, social services and work-related experience, LiPACE joined with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups to present the ‘Exploring the E-generation – Other Learning Experiences for Senior Secondary School Students’ programme.
The Capacity Building Mileage Programme, which promotes learning among women, commenced its third phase of development this year with the introduction of an e-learning mode and new student financial assistance measures. Also, to provide a convenient means of learning, the Active Elderly Learning Programme under the Elder Academy Project started five pilot e-learning courses on a healthy diet, Chinese medicine, Hong Kong culture, financial planning and environmental protection. Public seminars on various topics were also organized, including the Green Living Series, the annual Investor Education Day and a Mandatory Provident Fund Investment Education Seminar.
