課程團隊

電腦系課程團隊於1989年成立,隸屬於數學課程團隊。在都會大學,一個課程團隊相當於其他大學的一個學系部門。電腦系團隊是科技學院現有五個項目團隊之一,由院長王富利教授領銜。它也是最早成立的項目團隊之一。

首個電腦系課程是於 1989 年開辦的應用電腦榮譽理學士課程​​。自此,課程團隊逐漸發展成為一個成熟的學術單位,擁有超過 400 名全日制學生和 500 名兼讀制學生,並擁有多個課程在本科和研究生階段。該團隊還在研發方面建立了堅實的基礎,尤其是在教育技術、創新教學法、進化計算和軟件工程方面。

從遙距教學到面授教學

都會大學以遙距教育著稱,但她已發展成為一所擁有非常強大的全日制教學運作的多元模式大學。事實上,全日制學生的人數在 2013 年就已經超過了非全日制學生。

電腦系團隊是學校第一個提供全日制課程的部門,早在 2004 年她就開發了互聯網技術榮譽計算機學士課程 (BCOMPHITF)。該計劃深受中學畢業生以及副學士和高級文憑持有人的歡迎。 在2007年,電腦學榮譽理學士(JUPAS 9707)也是都會大學首批七個聯招課程之一。

由於高級文憑和副學士學位持有人對銜接學位課程的需求增加,電腦系團隊於 2011 年開始與明愛專上學院合作提供網絡技術榮譽理學士課程​​ (BSCHWTF) . 該計劃已經培養了 140 多名具備當地 IT 行業網絡技術的實用知識的畢業生。

2012 年,為新學制的中學生開設了革新的互聯網技術榮譽電腦學士 (BCOMPHITJ)。採用新的聯招代碼 9717 以區別於之前的課程。現在已有超過320名學生。

從本科到研究生課程

互聯網應用信息技術理學碩士 (MSCITIA) 是電腦系團隊提供的研究生課程。自 2000 年以來,該項目的畢業生人數已超過 750 人。該項目為學生提供實踐知識,受到喜歡遙距學習及高靈活性的人歡迎。由於其受歡迎程度和獨特性,該計劃在 2012 年獲得了 ICT 銅獎專業發展類別。

2011 年,電腦系課程團隊與 IBM 中國/香港有限公司達成合作協議,提供企業電腦研究生證書,這是一門針對大型電腦和企業計算的高級專業培訓課程。

從成功走向成功

電腦系團隊高度致力於優質教學,以造福我們的學生。除了電腦系主題的研究,創新的教學和學習一直是該團隊的另一個優勢,因為它可以提供有效率的教育。

早在 2003 年,研究資助局 (RGC) 在根據適用於其他 CERG 研究提案的相同標準進行嚴格評估後,建議教育統籌局 (EMB) 向 Vanessa Ng 博士和 Steven Choy 博士撥款 312,000 美元.  他們的提案主題為“在異步遙距教育環境中改進電腦編程的教學和學習”。最近,Vanessa Ng 博士和 Andrew Lui 博士作為跨機構團隊的成員,從質量提升支持計劃 (QESS) 中獲得了 440 萬美元,用於為中學畢業生開發電子學習平台。對於學術人員的其他認可,請參閱認可和獎勵頁面。

Krutz Cheuk

After graduating from OUHK, Krutz obtained an M.Sc. in Engineering Management from CityU. He is now completing his second master degree, M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering, at CUHK. Krutz has a wide range of working experience. He has been with Siemens, VTech, and PCCW.

Hugo Leung
Software and Hardware Engineer

Hugo Leung Wai-yin, who graduated from his four-year programme in 2015, won the Best Paper Award for his ‘intelligent pill-dispenser’ design at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering’s International Conference on Consumer Electronics – China 2015.

The pill-dispenser alerts patients via sound and LED flashes to pre-set dosage and time intervals. Unlike units currently on the market, Hugo’s design connects to any mobile phone globally. In explaining how it works, he said: ‘There are three layers in the portable pillbox. The lowest level is a controller with various devices which can be connected to mobile phones in remote locations. Patients are alerted by a sound alarm and flashes. Should they fail to follow their prescribed regime, data can be sent via SMS to relatives and friends for follow up.’ The pill-dispenser has four medicine slots, plus a back-up with a LED alert, topped by a 500ml water bottle. It took Hugo three months of research and coding to complete his design, but he feels it was worth all his time and effort.

Hugo’s public examination results were disappointing and he was at a loss about his future before enrolling at the OUHK, which he now realizes was a major turning point in his life. He is grateful for the OUHK’s learning environment, its industry links and the positive guidance and encouragement from his teachers. The University is now exploring the commercial potential of his design with a pharmaceutical company. He hopes that this will benefit the elderly and chronically ill, as well as the society at large.

Soon after completing his studies, Hugo joined an automation technology company as an assistant engineer. He is responsible for the design and development of automation devices. The target is to minimize human labor and increase the quality of products. He is developing products which are used in various sections, including healthcare, manufacturing and consumer electronics.
