Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy II

By completing Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy II, students should be able to acquire the knowledge and skills for the management of musculoskeletal dysfunctions of the upper limbs and the spine, and to learn the contemporary developments of manipulative approaches to work-related or traumatic musculoskeletal disorders.

Neurological Physiotherapy

Neurological Physiotherapy helps students to equip themselves with the knowledge of the principles of neuroplasticity and motor learning, and to apply to the physiotherapy management of neurological dysfunctions.

Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy and Pharmacology

This course introduces students to the pathophysiology with reference to medical, pharmacological and surgical management strategies for common respiratory and cardiovascular conditions specific to different age groups. Upon completion of the course, students are capable of adopting a clinical decision-making process in the identification of respiratory and cardiovascular problems, prioritization and implementation of treatment.

Integrated Physiotherapy Practice Across the Life Span

This course builds on the knowledge and skills students acquired and developed in earlier courses in the curriculum to formulate a person-centred and evidence-based physiotherapy plan of care for clients of various age/life stages with a multitude of health conditions.

Research Methods and Statistics

Students will be introduced of the basic research concepts, study designs, sampling and statistical techniques in this course. Students will also be guided to the procedure of writing a research proposal and the application of ethical approval.

Primary Health and Community Care

This course equips students with the knowledge and skills required for physiotherapy services in primary health and community care settings operated by public or private sectors. Students will be prepared for their readiness in serving a wide variety of clientele of physical, mental, cognitive, socio-environmental, residential and vocational problems as a result of disease, or normal degenerative and ageing process.
