Icarus Wang Peng, a graduate of the Creative Advertising and Media Design programme, showcased his artwork “Voice of Peace” at the prestigious D&AD New Blood Awards. Organised by the British Design and Art Direction, the competition challenges creative arts students, graduates and young talent from around the world to tackle real creative briefs, with submissions judged by top industry professionals. Icarus's work met all three judging criteria — a good idea, excellent execution and relevance to the brief — earning him the Wood Pencil in the competition.

In “Voice of Peace”, a dove is creatively formed using the word “peace” in various languages, symbolising the universal desire for a diverse yet harmonious world, where children can grow up free from conflict. The artwork was designed for Secret 7”, a charitable auction project run by the organisation War Child, which invites creatives from around the globe to reinterpret iconic tracks and produce unique sleeve designs. The proceeds from the auction are used to support War Child's work in 14 conflict zones around the world, where they provide immediate emergency aid, specialist psychological support, education, and vital safe spaces for children, young people and their families.

In addition to “Voice of Peace”, Icarus contributed a design titled “Mute” to the Secret 7” project, further demonstrating his commitment to using creativity for meaningful causes.
