HKMU Talk of the Metropolis: Dr Charles Chen Yidan encourages innovation in education to meet future challenges

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) today (7 January) held its first “Talk of Metropolis” of the year, featuring a dialogue titled “Transforming the World through Education” between Dr Charles Chen Yidan, Founder of the Yidan Prize, and Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing, President of HKMU. Dr Chen shared his vision for the future of education. Through the Yidan Prize, he hopes to recognise changemakers in education whose work are future-oriented, innovative, transformative and sustainable, and support their education research and development initiatives to create a better world through education....

HKMU receives HK$300 million donation from the Wu Jieh Yee Charitable Foundation for new campus development

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) received a generous donation of HK$300 million from the Wu Jieh Yee Charitable Foundation (the Foundation), marking the largest single private donation in the University's history and the largest donation ever made by the Foundation. This substantial contribution will be designated to support the new campus development project in Ho Man Tin, enabling the University to nurture more talent, contribute to Hong Kong's long-term development, and promote community health and wellness....

HKMU holds flag-raising ceremony on New Year's Day

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) held a flag-raising ceremony this morning to mark the beginning of the New Year. Members of the HKMU community, including Council members, University management, staff and students, attended the ceremony to express their wishes for the prosperity of the country and the continued development of Hong Kong....
