HKMU launches two new programmes for nurturing professionals and a “Minor in Global Studies” to expand students' international experience

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) will launch two new programmes in the 2026/27 academic year: a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Diagnostic Radiography and a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours in Robotics and Automation Engineering. The aim of these programmes is to nurture talent equipped with both professional expertise and technical skills. In addition, the University will introduce a new “Minor in Global Studies” to broaden students' international perspectives and enhance their global experience....

HKMU Talk of the Metropolis by Dr Joyce Mok Wing-si: raising awareness of infant mental health

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) held its fourth “Talk of the Metropolis” of the year today (6 November), featuring Dr Joyce Mok Wing-si, President of the Hong Kong Association for Infant Mental Health. HKMU faculty and students use technology to enhance travel safety and crop harvesting in China's “hometown of lychees”

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU), as Hong Kong's first university of applied sciences, is committed to integrating practical learning into its curriculum, empowering students to tackle societal challenges and develop into innovative, socially responsible professionals. Last month, students and faculty members from the Department of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science in the School of Science and Technology visited Maoming, Guangdong province, where they voluntarily installed solar-powered lampposts in a local village, improving travel safety for residents. They are also working on agricultural technologies to improve the harvesting efficiency of local lychees and other crops, supporting the country's rural revitalisation strategy....

HKMU Students recognised by MTR “Ride to Success” Scholarship Programme

The scholarship programme is organised by MTR Corporation and co-organised by MTR Academy, with the Hong Kong Council of Social Service serving as programme consultant and partner. Among the 24 awardees, 7 outstanding students from HKMU were recognised for their excellent academic performance, passion in community service, and their keen interest in railway sector. Each recipient is eligible for scholarship support of up to over HK$180,000 to cover tuition fees for a four-year bachelor's degree programme....
