Creative writing graduate's final year project gets published in Hong Kong Literary

A Chinese fiction titled Lotus Flower, the final year project written by graduate Lau Siu-fong from the Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Creative Writing and Film Arts programme, recently got published in Hong Kong Literary, one of the most prestigious local literary magazines. Under the supervision of Dr Rebecca Leung Mo-ling, Head of Creative Arts cum Associate Professor, Siu-fong utilized the stream of consciousness writing technique to create the fiction Lotus Flower, bringing readers into the heart of the protagonist....

Accounting students win the second runner-up in tax debate competition

A team of four Year 3 and 4 students from HKMU Professional Accounting programme participated in the 6th Tax Debate Competition 2022 organized by the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong. In the preliminary round held in late May, HKMU team debated with teams from other local institutions in Hong Kong on the taxation topic set by the Institute. HKMU representatives entered the final round held on 6 May and won the second runner-up prize and Best Team Spirit Award with their sound taxation knowledge, convincing arguments and good team spirit....

Ng Wing-yee Natalie, a year 3 student from Creative Advertising and Media Design programme, participated in the Toastmasters International District 89 Division H Area H4 Speech Contest earlier. With her excellent language and public speaking ability, Natalie won the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up in the Table Topics Contest and Evaluation Contest respectively....

Work of Creative Arts master's student gets published in local literature magazine

A poem written by Xiao Xiaona, a student from the Master of Arts in Creative Writing programme, was published in a local literary publication Hong Kong Literature Bimonthly earlier. The poem entitled 《墳前的舞蹈》 tells the scene and mood of the author dancing in front of the grave, and expresses her desire for utopia....

Chinese programme graduate wins news reporting awards

Guo Hongyu, a graduate of the Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Chinese programme, participated in writing two news articles named《想‧創能系列》and 《超能材料系列》during her service in Wen Wei Po as an education reporter. The two series were awarded the second runner-up (Year 2020) and the Merit Award (Year 2021) respectively in the "Best Science News Reporting" section of the "Hong Kong News Awards"....
