Student innovative project wins the YDC Best Potential Startup and Innovation Award

Computer Engineering student Li Yanpei teamed up with a student from Hong Kong Baptist University to participate in the YDC Dare to Change Business Pitch Competition, organised by the Young Entrepreneurs Development Council (YDC). Their project, “WeGreen AI”, won the YDC Best Potential Startup and Innovation Award, earning them HK$15,000 in recognition of their efforts....

HKMU Angel Fund incubates first batch of five startups with up to HK$1 million each; driving innovation, technology and sustainability

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) allocated HK$50 million last year to launch the HKMU Startup Fund, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship among students, faculty and alumni. As part of this initiative, the Angel Fund Programme selected its first batch of five high-potential startups, each receiving investment of up to HK$1 million to further develop their business. These startups span fields such as smart healthcare, artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics and sustainable development, leveraging innovative technologies and products to drive social and economic growth in Hong Kong and beyond....

HKMU entrepreneurs selected for Housing Authority start-up programme to trial run businesses rent-free

To encourage and support young people in pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams, the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) launched the Well Being·Start-Up programme, which offers shop premises in shopping centres under the HA for shortlisted young entrepreneurs to trial their business plans rent-free for seven months. Two brands run by our alumni and a student, Wind.n.Sand and GreenBox Technology, stood out from 180 applications and were selected for the programme among 15 other winners....
