Students and graduates of the master's programme in Creative Writing showcased their exceptional writing skills in various literary contests, earning numerous accolades.

Student Huang Xianjin won First Prize at the inaugural “Gujing Distillery” National College Creative Writing Competition (「古井貢杯」全國高校創意寫作大賽), organised by Heilongjiang University, for his work “Clothes Alteration” (〈改衣記〉). Li Wenlong's novel “Dragon and Phoenix” (〈龍鳳〉) was awarded first runner-up in the Fiction category at the 13th Taichung Literature Awards. Meanwhile, Zhang Bohan received the New Talent Award at the First National Mao Dun Research Essay Competition for Tertiary Students (全國大學生茅盾研究徵文大賽) for his essay “Inheritance and Innovation of Mao Dun’s Literature under the Development of Artificial Intelligence” (「人工智能背景下茅盾文學的傳承與創新」).

Graduate Wu Lianxin achieved remarkable success with her work “The Next Station is Wong Tai Sin” (〈下一站,黃大仙〉), which won championship in the Prose category in the 2025 Times Cup “Chinese Heart, Hong Kong Love” Global Chinese Writing Competition (時代杯「中國心·香港情」全球華文創作大賽), organised by the Hong Kong Literary Press. Another of her works, “A Man Like Me” (〈像我這樣的一個男子〉), earned the Merit Award in Fiction in the 2024 Awards for Creative Writing in Chinese, hosted by Hong Kong Public Libraries. Huang Weixing won the Criticism Award in the First Guangdong Creative Writing Awards (廣東創意寫作獎) with his article “The Light Pointing Towards the Ocean of Stars” (〈奔赴星辰大海的光〉). Additionally, Fu Wei claimed the Poetry Award and was named one of the “Top Ten Poets of 2024” in the Tenth Youth Literary Awards (青春文學獎) for his serial poem “Cloud Factory” (《造雲工廠》).
