Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) and The Y. Elites Association (the Association) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 10 December to provide HKMU students with diverse learning and experiential opportunities. This collaboration aims to enhance students' knowledge and career development, equipping them to tackle future challenges.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing, HKMU President, and Mr Jason Wong Chun-tat, Chairman of The Y. Elites Association. The MoU was officially signed by Prof. Ricky Kwok Yu-kwong, HKMU Vice President (Research and Institutional Advancement), and Mr Conrad Alwin Ho, Executive Vice Chairman of The Y. Elites Association.

Prof. Lam expressed his gratitude for the partnership between HKMU and the Association, emphasising its potential to create meaningful opportunities for students to deepen their knowledge and explore career interests. As a part of the collaboration, initiatives such as the co-organisation of a Young Diplomat Lecture and a Youth Exchange to Wuhan, scheduled for January 2026, aim to help broaden students' perspectives. “Looking ahead, we believe this partnership will provide boundless opportunities for our students, creating a future filled with opportunities, innovation, and lasting value,” said Prof. Lam.

Mr Wong described the MoU as an important milestone and looked forward to co-developing a range of impactful initiatives for HKMU students. “We are confident that this collaboration will open up new avenues for young people, broaden their horizons, and strengthen their capacity to contribute meaningfully to society,” he said.

Guests attending the signing ceremony included Prof. Alan Au Kai-ming, HKMU Vice President (Strategic Initiatives); Prof. Roger Scully, Dean of the School of Arts and Social Sciences; Prof. Philips Wang Fu-lee, Dean of the School of Science and Technology; Mr Jacky Ko Chung-kit and Mr Calvin Tse Hoi-fat, Vice Chairmen of The Y. Elites Association; and Mr Regan Ho Ting-hong, Treasurer of the Association.

The MoU outlines a variety of collaborative initiatives designed to enrich the students' learning experience. The Association will provide student volunteer opportunities at prestigious events, such as the Boao Forum for Asia Youth Summit (Hong Kong), and a range of internship opportunities to help students gain valuable skills, experience and confidence. Additionally, through partnerships with the Association and other relevant organisations, HKMU students will have access to study tours, internship programmes and entrepreneurship competitions. These initiatives aim to provide experience beyond the classroom, broadening the students' horizons, expanding their networks, and supporting their personal and career aspirations.
