Preparing for the rise of AI in higher education

In the face of the rapid evolution of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), the University organised a half-day event titled “AI & ChatGPT for Higher Education”, featuring talks and a panel discussion on the latest developments in generative AI and their implications for the paradigm shift in learning, teaching and assessment.

Preserving coastal wetlands: international conference

The School of Science and Technology hosted an important International Conference on Conservation and Sustainable Development of Coastal Wetland. HKMU is a leader in coastal wetland research, and this conference provided a platform where scientists, scholars, government officials, NGO workers and students could explore challenges in and solutions to coastal wetland conservation and development.

MOU with Auxiliary Medical Service

HKMU signed an MOU with the Government's Auxiliary Medical Service, under which the partners will work together on medical and health training, service-learning programmes, volunteer work and career planning opportunities for young people.

Fountain of Knowledge Networking Dinner

The University's Fountain of Knowledge initiative, a platform for students to expand their professional networks, practise English, and enrich their non-academic knowledge outside the classroom, rounded off a busy year with a Fountain of Knowledge Networking Dinner attended by over 60 members and guests.

Talk of the Metropolis: Ir Aaron Bok Kwok-ming

The Talk of the Metropolis for April was given by the immediate past president of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Ir Aaron Bok Kwok-ming. He discussed the evolution of urban development and engineering construction in Hong Kong, and looked ahead to how the engineering industry would develop in the years ahead.
