Highlights of the year

Campus Run

Taking advantage of the cooler November weather, HKMU organised a second Campus Run that saw over 250 staff and students complete a winding course around the University’s campuses. This year, participant numbers jumped 40% from the inaugural version of the Campus Run.

Honorary University Fellowships

This year, the University conferred Honorary University Fellowships on four distinguished individuals: Managing Director of Applied Technology Integration Limited Ir Dr Alex Chan Siu-kun; Managing Partner of RSM Hong Kong Mr Eugene Liu; President of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong Dr Allen Shi Lop-tak; and founder of Holy Café Training Centre Mrs Maria Sung Law Man-kwan.

Conference on healthcare simulation education

The School of Nursing and Health Studies put together the SUN (Simulation User Network) Conference, inviting healthcare educators and professionals to learn from an international panel specialising in simulation training, especially the application of data in simulation education, in a series of lectures and workshops

Talk of the Metropolis: Prof. Jeffrey Shaw

Chair Professor of the Academy of Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University, Prof. Jeffrey Shaw, delivered a Talk of the Metropolis lecture on “New Media Art — the Conjunction of Digital Technology and New Modes of Aesthetic Expression and Experience”.

Me&U employer networking event

In one of many employer networking initiatives undertaken in the year, the Student Affairs Office this month hosted an event titled “Me&U Create Infinite Possibilities”, which brought together around 100 employer representatives from a wide array of different sectors and industries.

HKMU 31st Congregation

The annual Congregation for graduates, the University's 31st, once again proved to be a superb occasion for celebration and memory-making.

Cantonese opera in the spotlight

A well-received Cantonese opera concert was organised by the School of Arts and Social Sciences under the theme “Cantonese Opera: Poetics and Aesthetics”. The show included performances of celebrated pieces from classic Cantonese operas.

Accolades for Business school

The Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Adminstration received a major recognition for its work in financial education, receiving the Corporate Financial Education Leadership — Gold Award in the IFPHK Financial Education and ESG Leadership Awards 2022, presented by the Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong.
