Alumni Events and Activities New Perspective for Career Development: Building and developing a brand – sharing from a brand storyteller

The pandemic has dealt a heavy blow to the economy. From fresh graduates to experts in the workplace, everyone of us has been facing immense challenges. To prepare ourselves for the new landscape, the Alumni Affairs Unit introduced the New Perspective for Career Development online talk series last year and alumni from different sectors were invited to share views and experience on business startups, management and online marketing.

This year, alumni from various sectors have been invited to share practical experience from starting up to building a brand and to sustaining business during hard times like this. You are cordially invited to participate in the coming online talk series hosted by alumna DJ Ms CPui Lo, and join us to explore more opportunities for career development and to brave the epidemic.

Speaker:

Alumna Ms Maria Luisa Poon     Bachelor of Hospitality Management
Brand Co-founder of Efay
Director of Business Development of Efay Group Ltd

A 'brand' is not just the name or logo of a company. Talking about 'brand' of a certain product or service, it showcases the positioning, it represents the image, it tells the core value of the company, and more. A clear brand positioning is key to success in sales and marketing across businesses. In 2010, Luisa established a B2B brand Efay in Taiwan, which mainly develops displayware for hospitality industry. She has created strong brand positioning, formulated marketing strategies and successfully expanded the brand to international markets with business spanning the globe to over 70 countries. In the process of establishing, positioning and successfully marketing a new brand, how did Luisa do it from scratch? While related businesses of the industry were hit hard by the pandemic, does brand management during this new normal bring her any insight and inspiration?

Host:

Alumna Ms CPui Lo    BBA in Management

CPui works in the online marketing field. Having genuine interest in performing arts and radio broadcasting, she is also a radio DJ and occasionally works as an MC and voice talent.
