資訊科技理學副學士課程規例

本規例乃根據《副學位頒授規例》(副學位)第一至四段制定。

《副學位頒授規例》及《教務規例》內辭彙釋義所採用的定義同時適用於本規例。

資訊科技理學副學士課程
1. 學生必須符合下列規定,方可獲考慮頒授資訊科技理學副學士
  a) 符合《入學、註冊及學籍規例》所載的規定;及
  b) 符合《副學位頒授規例》(副學位)所載的規定;及
  c) 按有關副學士課程規例修畢指定的科目,取得至少80學分。
2. 按大學規定,修讀資訊科技理學副學士課程,學生必須:
  a) 選修表一的基礎程度科目,取得40學分;及
  b) 選修表一的中級或高級程度科目,取得40學分。

註:

  1. 此等科目與某些科目不可兼修;在不可兼修的科目組合中,只有其中一科會計算入有關學術資格之內。有關資料,學生應參閱不可兼修的科目組合列表。
     
  2. 全日制面授教學的科目。這些科目與編號相同的科目屬同一科目,惟前者的編號之後有 "F"一字。例如:BUS B100 與 BUS B100F 為同一科目,但採用不同的教學方式。學生如已修畢全日制面授教學的科目,不得重複修讀遙距教學的相同科目,反之亦然。
     
  3. IT E150、MATH S121、COMP S201COMP S263、 COMP S269 及 COMP S359 已取代舊科目。學生已修畢舊科目會視同已修畢新科目,即:

    IT E150 = IT L150

    MATH S121 = MATH S111 = MATH S101 (惟校方只計算 MATH S101 其中10學分入此課程)

    COMP S263 = MATH S261

    COMP S269 = COMP S268

  4. 此等科目現已停辦。
     
  5. 已修畢 IT S101F 的學生,會視同已修畢 IT S102F 和 IT S103F。

  7. 已修畢 BIS B121 / BIS B121F 的學生,會視同已修畢 BIS B123 / BIS B123F
     
  8. ENGL E110 和 ENGL E120 已取代 ENGL E100。 已修畢 ENGL E100 的學生,會視同已修畢 ENGL E110 和 ENGL E120。

Hugo Leung Wai-yin, who graduated from his four-year programme in 2015, won the Best Paper Award for his ‘intelligent pill-dispenser’ design at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering’s International Conference on Consumer Electronics – China 2015.

The pill-dispenser alerts patients via sound and LED flashes to pre-set dosage and time intervals. Unlike units currently on the market, Hugo’s design connects to any mobile phone globally. In explaining how it works, he said: ‘There are three layers in the portable pillbox. The lowest level is a controller with various devices which can be connected to mobile phones in remote locations. Patients are alerted by a sound alarm and flashes. Should they fail to follow their prescribed regime, data can be sent via SMS to relatives and friends for follow up.’ The pill-dispenser has four medicine slots, plus a back-up with a LED alert, topped by a 500ml water bottle. It took Hugo three months of research and coding to complete his design, but he feels it was worth all his time and effort.

Hugo’s public examination results were disappointing and he was at a loss about his future before enrolling at the OUHK, which he now realizes was a major turning point in his life. He is grateful for the OUHK’s learning environment, its industry links and the positive guidance and encouragement from his teachers. The University is now exploring the commercial potential of his design with a pharmaceutical company. He hopes that this will benefit the elderly and chronically ill, as well as the society at large.

Soon after completing his studies, Hugo joined an automation technology company as an assistant engineer. He is responsible for the design and development of automation devices. The target is to minimize human labor and increase the quality of products. He is developing products which are used in various sections, including healthcare, manufacturing and consumer electronics.
