I am delighted to have had the opportunity to curate community events through my participation in the Caritas Community Centre internship programme. Engaging with different people and exploring new experiences has been truly exciting for me. The community serves as our playground, offering free and enjoyable activities.
Within the programme, I took charge of organizing cultural tours. This involved arranging visits to individual stores, conducting interviews, writing articles, designing tour guides based on specific themes, and leading the cultural tours. Over the past few months, I had the pleasure of getting to know many shop owners and engaging in delightful conversations with them. The cultural tours are excited to share their stories with the public. The results of several months of persistence can be shared with the public, and their comments are also positive, which makes me feel very satisfied and successful.
I think being a tour guide or visiting a shop owner is a real form of community involvement. Unknowingly, I developed an attachment to these streets and felt the kindness of the shopkeepers. I was very touched by the movable-type printed card commemorating Master Ren's first guided tour. No words can describe the experience I have gained over the past few months. I have found something I like to do, and I hope to continue doing it.

TheJockey Club Healthy Neighbourhood Kitchen project by Heath in Action and Caritas serves as a co-living space for our subdivided flat families, anticipating the diversity of services required to meet our members’ basic needs. The members treat each other like family members, which makes working there feel like a second home.
The diversity of my working environment allows me to acquire a wide range of skills that are outside of my field of major, such as basic healthcare procedures, as well as combine my knowledge and skills with those of other specialists to create a more holistic and cohesive community. This is why I find it deeply rewarding to be able to empower grassroots communities, learn from them and grow in solidarity with them.
