The Department of Social Sciences offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes covering the fields of psychology, economics, politics and public administration, and applied social studies. The Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours covers five majors (Streams: Ageing Society and Services Studies, Applied Economics, Applied Social Studies, Global and China Studies, and Politics and Public Administration), whereas the Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Psychology covers two majors (Streams: Psychology, and Counsellng Psychology). We also collaborate with Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration to offer a double degree programme named Bachelor of Applied Psychology with Honours, Bachelor of Business Management with Honours. Additionally, our taught postgraduate programmes, namely Master of Arts in Cultural and Heritage Tourism, and Master of Social Sciences, equip students with the knowledge and abilities for professional growth and career development.
Alongside academic study, we provide different experiential learning opportunities and co-curricular activities for our students, such as internships, service-learning programmes, fieldtrips, study tours and overseas summer schools. We always strive to encourage all-round development of our students and nurture professionals in related disciplines.
